Between October and December 2017 the Tate Modern Learning Department asked me to deliver some workshops aimed at 8 – 14 year olds in response to some of the works in the permanent collection. After researching the black British artists in the collection I found out that less than 10 of the 3750 something artists were black British. The workshops I lead used projections, white cotton and drawing inks to allow participants of all ages to create a mural reflecting the many established and emerging black artists that Tate could include in the future collection.

Some great moments from my Tate Workshop yesterday teaching lil ones about black British art through messy mural making on white cotton.
